2005 Excellence in Coordinated School Health Recognition Awards Program Winner
School Counseling, Physical and Behavioral Health Services Outstanding Leadership Awards

MSAD 75

The administrative structure at SAD 75 is inclusive, team oriented, student centered and this philosophy is pervasive among school staff. The administration clearly articulates the values and need for effective health and counseling services and how critical they are to student learning. Staff felt that they had administrative support for the services that were provided.

Staff members have the opportunity to provide input into health policy development. School administrators encourage staff creativity and as a result the school has adopted innovative programs to meet the needs of students such as the Healthy Learners program.

Health services staff throughout the district are competent and effective. Mt. Ararat High School has a school-based health center that contributes to the health of students. SAD 75 provides staff development, a good orientation for new staff and regular training for all staff.

Students feel their needs are being meet and that staff members respect their confidentiality. Staff members have opportunities to identify and address those difficult social and mental health issues including bullying and harassment. There is good coordination of the health services component with other school health programs.

Superintendent Michael Wilhelm states that it is important for school counseling and school nursing services to be an integral part of the school district to enhance the health and well-being of all students.

It is our honor to present SAD 75 with the exemplary award for school counseling and school health services.

Michael Barrett
Guidance Counselor

Michael is one of the most patient, kind, and gentle professionals working in SAD 75. He is an outstanding role-model and through his strong example and interactions in his school between students and faculty is extremely positive and respectful. Michael is also a leader among his peers. His opinions are frequently sought and he has a gift for finding time to help anyone who is in need.

Robin Beltramini
Nurse Practitioner

In the short time Robin has been the Nurse Practitioner at SAD 75’s School-based Health Center she has more than doubled student enrollment due to her non-threatening, trustworthy manner. Robin works very hard to coordinate efforts with other professionals both within the school system and outside in the community ensuring all aspects of a student’s health and wellness are cared for.

Patrick Moore
Director of Special Services

Patrick is a quintessential child advocate. He is sensitive and compassionate and has spent years building a Special Services Program in the SAD 75 that meets the needs of a wide range of students. When faced with tough challenges and limited financial resources, Patrick always seems to find a way to craft outstanding options. He is a “Can Do” kind of person who, like Michael Barrett and Robin Beltramini, always has time for someone in need.
