Home > Grant Q&A CSHP Priority SAU Grant Questions and Answers
Question 1: On the grant application page 1 it states “Each of the three schools of Maine Indian Education (MIE) is considered a separate SAU served by a single superintendent. The SAUs are Pleasant Point Passamaquoddy, Indian Township Passamaquoddy, and Indian Island Penobscot. MIE will submit separate applications for funds targeted for services to MIE students as they have already been identified as meeting the needs criteria.” Does this mean this application is only for the Tribal Schools? Answer #1: This application is for all of the 18 Priority School Administrative Units (SAUs) identified as eligible. The notation regarding the Tribal Schools is informational as it may not be common knowledge that each Tribal School is considered an SAU.
Question #2: For academic data can we use the MEAs even though health is not included in the MEA? Answer #2: Yes, MEAs or any other academic testing data can be used.
Question #3: Where can I find County Health Data? Answer #3: Local Public Health Agencies, also: http://www.maine.gov/dhhs/boh/phdata/district_health_profiles.htm
Question #4: Can I use Free and Reduced lunch data for the social-economic data? Answer #4: Yes.
