Home > Health Education Health EducationA Coordinated School Health Program (CSHP) is an effective system designed to connect health (physical, social and emotional) with educational (cognitive and intellectual) programs. This coordinated approach to school health improves kids' health and their capacity to learn through the support of families, communities and schools working together. Health Education provides the academic focus of the CSHP, offering a sequenced curriculum of skills and knowledge of health topics to students from kindergarten through high school.
2012 Comprehensive School Health Education Spring ConferenceHealth Education: A Key to Healthy Living This conference will offer information and access to materials on a wide variety of health education topics, programs and resources for the classroom via sessions, exhibits, roundtables, structured networking and teacher resource sharing. Featured guest speaker, Skip Gates is a parent and retired Maine teacher who will share his personal experience with the challenge of substance abuse. This will be followed by a session with substance abuse prevention experts then effective instructional practices for substance abuse prevention and other critical topics.
