27th Annual Maine Schoolsite Health Promotion Conference

Monday, June 25 – Wednesday, June 27, 2012

The Maine Schoolsite Health Promotion Conference is a unique professional development experience that provides a forum for representatives of a school or school administrative unit to discuss and respond to issues related to employee wellness, health promotion, health education and the maintenance of a healthy learning environment as part of a coordinated school health program.  Participants attend workshops that provide information for enhancing school climate and school environment, improving the health of students and staff, and contributing to personal well-being.  The registration fee provides participants with lodging in deluxe accommodations at Sugarloaf USA, delicious and nutritionally sound meals, access to the Sugarloaf Sports and Fitness Club, plus a wealth of resources and materials.

The upcoming Maine Schoolsite Health Promotion Conference offers nationally renowned keynote speakers along with over thirty workshops and roundtable sessions.  Participating teams will experience three days of wellness while developing a yearlong action plan to encourage staff and student wellness, improve the school climate and promote health education at the local level.  A commitment is expected from each team to successfully implement their action plan.
The Maine Schoolsite Health Promotion Program is endorsed by the:

The application process is as follows – please read carefully!

Complete conference application packets must be submitted or postmarked by the deadline date of April 12, 2012.  The conference team leader and the superintendent will be notified of acceptance.  Incomplete application packets will be returned.  Complete applications submitted after the deadline will be put on a wait list.  The 2012 Lodging and Conference Registration fee is $195 per person with the arrival date of Monday, June 25th.  If the team would like to arrive on Sunday, June 24th, the cost is $245 per person to cover the cost of lodging for the additional night.  An additional fee of $25 per person will be added for applications postmarked after the deadline and selected from the wait list.  Please do not send payment with this application!  The Maine Department of Education reserves the right to limit the number of participants.


To apply, a team must submit a COMPLETE CONFERENCE APPLICATION PACKET by the deadline date of April 12, 2012.
