- New Texas Law Sets School Physical Education Minimum (Star-Telegram, Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX, April 22, 2002)
A new Texas state law will require elementary school students to spend a minimum of 30 minutes per day or 135 minutes per week in physical education class. The Texas Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance recommends that students from kindergarten through third grade have at least 150 minutes of PE per week and that fourth through eighth graders have a total of 225 minutes per week.
